Meet Astro! This darling Chihuahua mix is about 9 years old and had a very rough start! He was found as a stray and came into the shelter with severe dental disease. He had most of his teeth removed in the shelter before he was placed with SPOT. When his foster mama noticed he still didn’t have much spunk and was licking at the air, she took him to our vet who found that the remainder of his teeth needed to be removed. Voila! He has come alive and is feeling good! His foster mom, Marcia reports that little Astro jumps in excitement it is meal time (canned food) and he attempts to toss his toys, but without teeth, that is a little difficult for this SWEET boy! Astro is good with other dogs, adults and children. After training with Marcia, he is now housebroken…who said you can’t teach an old dog new tricks!? Astro loves to hang with his doggie foster sister and with Marcia and her two boys. He is super affectionate and loves his belly rubs. On top of all of this goodness, Astro isn’t a barker, walks great on a leash and sleeps in his crate every night!
