She truly made a difference!
It is with the heaviest heart and deepest sadness that we share the passing of our wonderful volunteer and foster mom, Joyce Cunneen. Joyce had been devoted to animal rescue since the 1970s. She generously gave her time to SPOT—fostering over 30 animals—and to the Oceanside Shelter/SDHS Humane Society, where she was honored as Volunteer of the Year.
Joyce’s love for animals had no limits. She was instrumental in bringing SPOT dog Donna Daisy into classrooms to teach children about humane education and compassion. Her kindness and love touched every life she encountered—human and animal alike.
Joyce’s spirit will remain with us always, a reminder of the goodness this world needs more of.
