16 Nov Help save Little Bear!
UPDATE 11/20/24:
WARNING: Graphic surgical photos!
Little Bear had her life saving, emergency surgery yesterday.
We received that call that stopped us in our tracks. Little Bear’s heart stopped while she was in surgery. After several minutes of CPR they were able to get her heart started again and she pulled through!
Once her head and neck were shaved it was immediately apparant that the infection was much worse than anticipated. Little Bear has two large abscesses in her neck and multiple open wounds all over her head and neck.
We will never know what caused these wounds but it appears that it was multiple attacks from another animal. Such trauma for such a little pup.
Little Bear is showing some neurological signs and we aren’t sure if it’s from the trauma of her head wounds or from the severe infection. We are praying for a full recovery.
In the mean time, our sweet girl is recovering with our amazing foster, Natalie. She doesn’t mind cleaning her wounds and rocking her to sleep.
SPOT is only able to take on these difficult medical cases because of our generous donors. As you can imagine, the vet bills continue to rise as this girl isn’t out of the woods yet.

Little Bear was abandoned with dozens of puncture wounds to her head and neck and torso. She was evaluated last night by our Veterinarian. She currently has a severe infection in her neck and it’s obstructing her breathing. Little Bear needs emergency surgery. Can you please help us cover this life saving treatment?
